On 16th of January Fusion-io announced a new line of PCIe flash products targeted at hyperscale and cloud applications, scaling with 100s and 1000s of servers.
The ioScale comes in capacities from 410GB, doubling through 825GB, 1.65TB on to 3.2TB and use Fusion’s workstation ioFX card technology in a much simplified way (single half length PCIe slot) making it one of the highest density, commercially available drives.
The new products can be ordered in quantities starting with 100 pieces, at a starting price of $3.89 USD per gigabyte.
