Managed desktops in the AWS Cloud with Amazaon Workspaces

amazon-workspacesAmazon announced yesterday, during it’s re:Invent 2013 conference the availability of Amazaon Workspaces, a service ment to deliver virtual desktops to users.

The pricing starts at $35 a month and includes PC a system running Windows 7, Adobe Flash, Internet Explorer 9, Firefox, the Java Runtime Environment, and other apps – all powered by one virtual CPU, 50GB of storage, and 3.75GB of RAM per instance. The highest configuration costs 75$ a moth and includes Office 2010 and Trend Micro Anti-Virus.


During the same conference, Amazon also introduced Amazon AppStream (a flexible, low-latency service that allows streaming of resource intensive applications and games from the cloud) and AWS CloudTrail (a web service that records API calls made on an account and delivers log files to an Amazon S3 bucket).
